Her presentation, Famous Jewish Faces, included many Jewish artists, inventors and composers with a description of their impact on our world with highlights of Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie and Ken dolls.  Included in Lillian's presentation was a viewing of the film, The Tribe (click on titles to view presentations).  One lucky sisterhood member won a Bat Mitzvah Barbie created by Barbara Hermann.

Visually impaired students receive special opportunity at Bass Pro Shops

The Adopt-a-School program has been a long standing social action project for our sisterhood that provides activities one morning a week during the month of June for students that attend the Colonial School for the Visually Impaired.  This year, under the leadership of Rochelle Fenton and Phyllis Niegleberg, planned events included bowling, a sports experience guided by the Association of Blind Athletes, a Bass Pro tour and roller skating.   Click on the photo to see a video and slide show of students enjoying the Bass Pro visit.
