Join Sisterhood as we take a tour of the Pinch District on Sunday, July 28 led by Marla Shainberg and Phyllis Gregory. The cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members which includes a Trolley ride from Beale Street Trolley Station (corner of Main and Beale) to the Pinch District.
Participants will receive a PINCH (BINGO) card and the first person to mark 10 squares and yell "PINCH" will get a pinch (optional) and a prize.
Upon the return to the Beale Street Trolley Station, we will walk one block to tour A. Schwab and go upstairs to see the museum of items from "back in the day" and then downstairs to see the preserved rendition of Mr. Schwab's office/desk and the huge family tree that involves a lot of names that are familiar to many in our Memphis Jewish community.
Participants will meet at 12:25 at the A. Schwab Soda Fountain to see who won and officially end the event. Anyone who wants to stay for lunch or a malt/milkshake can order (DUTCH) at this time.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as there will be walking and stairs. Also, don't forget to bring water bottles since we will be outside.
In case of rain, an email will be sent out on Sunday morning at 8 AM and the plan will be to meet inside A. Schwab at its opening time of 11 AM. We will not take the trolley to the Pinch District, however, Marla and Phyllis will give a Pinch schpeel at A. Schwab's followed by the tour of their museum.
